Large Rabbit Cage

Why it is Advisable to Build a Large Rabbit Cage

There is one mistake that most rabbit farmers make and that is the building of a small rabbit hutch when they first buy the rabbit. This is usually one mistake that really comes back to cost them later on in the future. It is always advisable to build a large rabbit cage as displayed over official website of Rabbit Expert from the start, you might be wondering this so. Below is information on why one should consider doing so.

It is understandable why one would opt to have a small cage to start with. Normally one will start the rearing practice with just one rabbit. It will normally still be small and one will thus not see the need for a big cage. It is however very important in life to look at the bigger picture.

You need to understand that this rabbit will not remain a baby forever. It is feeding every day and thus it is growing with each passing day. It will eventually get to the point where it will be an adult with a big body. It will need a lot of space to be able to move around in and basically to just stay in. remember that rabbits rally love to explore their environment otherwise they get bored.

Thus it is important for them to have a big space where they can easily move around. As a matter of fact, the ideal size of a rabbit cage should four times the size of the rabbit when it is fully stretched out as an adult.

You also need to take into account that the rabbit will eventually grow on you and you might want to buy a bit more. The rabbit itself might also go out and procreate. This will mean that you will have additional rabbits. Will you then start constructing another cage? It is thus advisable to just have a large rabbit cage to begin with. This will even encourage you to take better care of your rabbit and even get more rabbits.

It is also important to note that rabbits need a hutch with good ventilation and good partitions. They need a litter section, an eating section, a sleeping section and a section to play at. You can only be able to achieve all these partitions if you have a large cage. Remember that due to the ventilation factor, it is not possible to have the sections squeezed; they all need to be very well spaced out.
